Free Bitcoin QR Code Generator

By Sheraz Khan

A Bitcoin QR code turns a wallet address into a square code that any phone camera can read. When someone scans it, their wallet app opens with the address already filled in, ready to receive a payment. They only have to type the amount and press send. It is the fastest way to turn a printed card, a poster or a shop counter into a Bitcoin payment.

This free Bitcoin QR code generator makes a code in seconds. Paste your wallet address, then download the code as a PNG or SVG. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no expiry date. The code is static, so the address stays inside the code for good, and it works for as long as the address is valid.

Use it on a business card so customers can pay you without typing the address, on a shop counter so a buyer can pay at the till, on an invoice so a client can settle the bill, or on a donation page so supporters can give. One scan is all it takes to start the payment.

Scan this and it opens the website link.

Example: hello@example.com, Subject: Hello

Scan this and it calls the number.

Example: +1 555 123 4567

Scan this and it opens a text message to the number.

Example: +1 555 123 4567, Message: Hi there

Scan this and it opens the place on a map.

Example: Birthday Party, 25 Dec 2026, 6 PM

Scan this and it opens a Bitcoin payment with the amount ready.

Example: 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa

Scan this and it opens the payment link.

Paste your payment link. A plain number on its own will not open inside a bank app. For payments inside a bank app, use the QR code your own bank app gives you.

How to make a Bitcoin QR code

Follow these steps to make your first code. It takes less than a minute.

  1. Open the tool above. The Bitcoin tab is already picked for you.
  2. Paste your wallet address in the box called Bitcoin address, for example 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa. Copy it from your wallet app so you do not mistype it.
  3. Check the live preview on the right. It updates by itself as you type, so you can see the code change in real time.
  4. Pick a download size. 512 pixels is right for most screens. Pick 1024 pixels or the SVG download for print.
  5. Pick an error correction level. Medium is the normal choice and works for most codes. Pick High if the code will be small or printed on rough paper.
  6. Add a caption below the code if you want one, such as Pay with Bitcoin or Scan to pay. It prints under the code in the PNG and SVG, so the message travels with the code.
  7. Download the code as a PNG for screens and print, or as an SVG for sharp, large prints. You can also copy the link or share the code straight from the tool.

Try it yourself. Paste the same address and you will see the same code appear in the preview above.

Why use a Bitcoin QR code?

Typing a Bitcoin address by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. A wallet address is a long string of letters and numbers, and one wrong character sends the payment to the wrong place or nowhere at all. A Bitcoin QR code removes that risk. The whole address travels inside the code, so the wallet app opens with the right address every time.

A Bitcoin QR code also makes people far more likely to pay. The step from reading to paying is a single scan and typing the amount, not a search for an address and a careful retype. For a shop, a charity, a freelancer or a content creator, that small push turns readers into payers.

A Bitcoin QR code works where an address cannot be tapped. Print cannot be tapped, but it can be scanned. That is why QR codes sit on business cards, shop counters, invoices, tip jars and donation pages. A printed address is dead text. A printed Bitcoin QR code starts a payment in one scan.

The code is free and private. This generator makes the code in your browser, so your address is never sent to our server and never stored. We do not ask for your email and we do not put a watermark on the code. The code is static, so it never expires and never stops working.

Where to use a Bitcoin QR code

Put a Bitcoin QR code on a business card so customers can pay you without typing the address. Put it on a shop counter so a buyer can pay at the till. Put it on an invoice so a client can settle the bill in one scan. Put it on a tip jar so a listener can tip a busker, a streamer or a writer.

Charities can put one on a collection box or a leaflet so supporters can give in one scan. Content creators can put one on a video or a page so fans can support their work. Traders can put one on a market stall so a buyer can pay without cash. Freelancers can put one on a proposal so a client can pay the deposit.

Restaurants can put one on the bill so diners can pay the table. Hotels can put one on a welcome card so guests can pay for extras. Churches and mosques can put one on a board so the congregation can give. Wherever you print a wallet address, a Bitcoin QR code makes people far more likely to actually use it.

For other one-scan actions, try the payment QR code generator for a payment link, the link QR code generator for any web page, and the phone QR code generator to start a call. Our guide on how to create a QR code for free shows the same steps for any code type.

How to print and share your Bitcoin QR code

Download the code at 1024 pixels or as an SVG for print, because a bigger file stays sharp. Print it at least 2 centimetres wide for close use, like a business card, and larger for posters or signs that people scan from a distance. A code should be at least one tenth as wide as the distance people will scan it from.

Use dark code on a light background for the best contrast, and leave a quiet zone of plain space around the code, at least four modules wide on each side. Do not print a code on a busy pattern or over a photo, and do not stretch it. If the code looks squashed or faded, scanners will struggle.

Always test before you print a big run. Print one copy, open your phone camera, point it at the code and check that it opens the wallet app with the right address. If it opens correctly on your phone, it will open correctly on others. Do not print your private key or recovery phrase anywhere, only the public wallet address.

Common mistakes to avoid

Do not use a wrong or old wallet address. A static code cannot be edited after you print it, and a Bitcoin payment cannot be undone, so check the address twice before you download the code. Copy it from your wallet app rather than typing it by hand, and send a small test payment first if the amount is large.

Do not print a QR code for the wrong network. A wallet address belongs to one coin, so make sure the code holds a Bitcoin address and not an address for another coin. Do not make the code too small for its distance, and do not forget a short caption, such as Scan to pay with Bitcoin.

And do not skip the test scan. A code that was never tested can fail on a customer’s phone and cost you a payment. Test the printed code, not only the version on your screen, and never share your private key.

FAQs

Is this Bitcoin QR code generator free?

Yes, every Bitcoin code is free. Make one for the till, one for the invoice, and one for each donation page, with no account, no watermark, and no limit on how many you make.

Does a Bitcoin QR code expire?

No. The address lives inside the code, so it keeps opening the wallet for as long as that address stays valid. If you move to a new wallet, print a fresh code for the new address.

Will it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, on both. On an iPhone, the camera shows a wallet prompt after a tap. On Android, the camera or Google Lens opens the same wallet prompt with no extra app.

Can I change the address after I print the code?

No. A static code holds the address inside it, so it cannot be edited after printing. If the address might change, print a new code. Our guide on static vs dynamic QR codes explains the difference.

Does the code set the amount to pay?

No. This code only fills in the wallet address. The person who scans it types the amount in their own wallet app before they send, so you agree the price in the normal way.

Is it safe to share my wallet address?

Yes. A wallet address is public, like an account number. It is safe to share. Never share your private key or recovery phrase, and this tool never asks for them.

What size should I download?

Pick by print size. A 512 pixel PNG is fine for cards and screens. For posters, counters, and donation boxes, use the SVG or the 1024 pixel PNG so it scans cleanly from steps away.

Can I add my logo to a Bitcoin QR code?

Yes. Put your mark in the middle through the logo upload above, or build the branded version in our logo QR code generator. Keep it small and set error correction to High so the payment still opens.
